Assignment instructions You need to identify a medium to large organisation for the purpose of this assessment. Imagine that you are in a middle-management position in this organisation.You have been tasked by the Managing Director (or board) of the organisation to write a report comprising of between 4 pages on the present state of the organisation’s contribution towards the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  Company Name: South African Airways

The report should comprise of the standard sections of any research report, followed by a list of cited sources. The report must include all of the following aspects: 

1.1 The introduction, of up to 1/2 page, should briefly set the scene by providing relevant information on the company, as well as the terms of reference of the report.

1.2 The literature section, of up to 1/2 pages, should discuss the scope of the SDGs in contemporary organisations, based on recent, reputable (academic) literature in this field, and culminate in your own argument about why this research is important. 

1.3 Procedure (methodology) in which you describe the research undertaken. The methodology section, of up to two pages, should describe and justify all aspects of your research methodology, including the approach (qualitative or quantitative); your instrument for collecting data within the organisation (survey, interviews or other); your method of selecting research participants (your sampling method should suit the overall research approach); your fieldwork and how you recorded data; your method of analysing data (statistical tests or thematic analysis, for example); your attention to ethical concerns, including how you protected the anonymity of participants; and, finally, a reflection on your positionality (i.e. how your relationship with the selected company may have influenced the outcome). 

1.4 The findings section, of up to one pages, should present findings that clearly emanate from your own practical research. Your findings should not include any reference to new literature. Literature is only covered in the literature and procedure sections. Your findings should not be focused on your opinions. Instead, you should present and analyse what you found in the field.
