Description:

You are given a notional amount of Rs10000 to invest in the Mauritian stock market in shares listed on the Official Market. You must split your investment 50:50 between two portfolios.
 

Assignment Objective:
(i) You will need to use technical analysis when setting the first portfolio and fundamental analysis when setting the second portfolio (each portfolio must consist between 2 to 5 assets). You need to compare and contrast the two portfolios and you need to make explicit reference to EMH in your analysis.
(ii) You will start trading on the 1 st of March and can trade until the 30 th of March (over 1 month). A detailed analysis of the trades done over the period should be given (number shares bought/ sold and the respective prices).
(iii) You will need to compare the performance of your two portfolios during the month of March with the performance of the market index. The returns of the two portfolios over the month should be calculated.
