In your capacity as a conference planner, you have been asked to select a keynote speaker from the short list of three suitable people listed below.
The conference is being organised on behalf of the (fictional) adult learning association Adult Education Unlimited Australia (AEUA). The aim of the conference is to motivate and educate vocational and higher education teachers about new educational innovations designed to engage adult learners. The attendees are all expert adult educators and vocational teachers who work hard to overcome their adult students’ issues with language, literacy, and numeracy. The conference will be held in Melbourne from 10th -14th July 2023 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) with around 500 attendees. The theme of the conference is educational innovation. The delegates will be made up of vocational and higher education teachers from around the world.

Task
1. Read Chapter 5 of Van Der Wagen (2018) and then address the Case Study below based on that chapter (see pgs. 97-98):
2. Review each of these TedTalks below and then select who you would most like to invite to be your keynote speaker.
3. Once you have chosen your speaker, create a 1,000-word business case which includes substantiated arguments to convince the expert to attend the 

conference. Your business case should include the following:
• An invitation to attend the AEUA conference in Melbourne in July 2023;
• An explanation of the conference objectives; and what the attendees are expected to learn and experience from their attendance at the conference;
• An overview of the conference program (should be an appendix);
• An indication of where (within the MCEC) and when (in the conference program) their presentation will be scheduled;
• An indication of their appearance fee and how you will be providing for their needs;
• At least three (3) compelling reasons why the individual might be interested in accepting the invitation to be the keynote speaker namely:
• Why the conference educational content reflects the speaker’s expertise;
• What value the speaker would add to the conference objectives; and,
• What range of benefits the speaker might receive through their attendance.
