The Premier’s Anzac Student Tour invites you to become an ambassador and represent  Western Australia on a commemorative overseas study tour. 
In 2021, the Premier’s Anzac Student tour will travel to Vietnam to commemorate the 55th  anniversary of the 1st Australian Task Force commitment and the Battle of Long Tan. 
Between 1962 and 1972 almost 60 000 Australians served in Vietnam. 521 died as a result  of the war and over 3 000 were wounded. Remembrance in the broader context  acknowledges 1.7 million men and women of the Commonwealth forces who died in the two  world wars.  
The tour will visit important historical sites including Hoi An, Vung Tau and Long Tan, before  attending Anzac Day commemorations in Hanoi. 
Applications close at 5.00pm on Friday 14 August 2020. 

Tour details 
Ten students will be selected to participate in this historical commemorative study tour to  Vietnam from Thursday 16 April to Saturday 26 April. Selected students will be accompanied  by three adult supervisors. 
The Government of Western Australia will meet the cost of international airfares, official  clothing, accommodation and the group’s meals when in Vietnam. Parents will be  responsible for meeting passport and visa expenses, travel insurance, immunisations and  personal out-of-pocket expenses. 
Eligibility 
To be eligible you must be a Western Australian student currently enrolled in Years 8 to 11  and display: 
? a genuine interest in the Anzac experience 
? an appreciation of the study of history 
? excellent interpersonal skills and self-confidence 
? a willingness to share your experiences (if selected) in your school and local community. 
You will demonstrate an understanding of some of the positive values exhibited in times of  war, the lessons of war for the current generation, and the importance of international peacekeeping processes and non-violent means of resolving conflict.
