Introduction
The collaborative marketing project is based on addressing a client brief that will be provided to you as part of this project. Each brief will be different but will contain a similar set of core information, including background information about the company / organization, description of the product/service that is the focus of the research and the objectives. You will have the opportunity to clarify the brief and address the research problem directly with the client. 

This assessment for this module has two parts: 
1. A group report and presentation 
2. An individual reflection. Part of the individual mark is based around your professional behaviour and engagement with the project. 

Full details of expectations for each assessment are below. After the submission of the report and presentation there will be an opportunity to discuss your findings with the client. 
Note that the assessment format is designed around the kinds of presentation and report formats that are used in marketing practice. The style may therefore be different to what you are used to in producing more academic work. 

Working in a team
You are all expected to play a full part in the team. In each team, there will be various roles, such as team leader, and sometimes your roles may change as the project progresses. For example, a person may well have a particular skill suited to a particular stage of the project. Students will develop their understandings and use of team dynamics, and learn how best to handle conflicts and resolve differences. It is important to note that you are working on a real project with a live business. In this respect you are representing Portsmouth Business School and high standards of professional behaviour and respect are expected throughout the project.  

Working with external clients
By working with external organisations, you are representing the University. In the very unlikely event of non-performance or misconduct by students, the tutor/Module coordinator may amend or cancel a project, or reallocate team members to another project. If the expectations or actions of a client organisation become unreasonable, or the organisation has to suddenly cancel a project, we will find you another project, and the student team will not be penalised for this.
