Title:
The commencement of “Communication Language Teaching beside Grammar Translation Method” The beginning of Communication Language Teaching and Grammar Translation Method both together at secondary school level in Bangladesh. It’s a case study of ESL or ELT across the country of all registries schools in Bangladesh.
Introduction:
After the independence of Bangladesh in 1971s, govt. reformed its national curriculum as a massive reformation activity. On that time govt. implemented a commission which is known as Dr. Kudrat a khuda commission in 1972. This committee made a national curriculum for secondary level for high school. They chose ‘Grammar Translation Method’ for English Language Learning beside mother language so that it will be easy to learn both languages through grammar. Though this method keeps a great contribution to learn English language and for many years it dominates in Bangladesh .Even though it has scarcity of communication competency. Students would learn only reading and writing a little bit speaking and listening as a result they face problem at the time of communication rather they mumble to say on English language. It focuses on the accuracy of grammar mastery but students can’t use these rules on the time of communication. For grammar translation method students learn only mother tongue and English language remains neglected. It doesn’t learn pronunciation of English language just teachers gives more emphasis on doing writing and translating of English language learning. Grammar is badly needed to learn English language because if students don’t know grammar, they will face problem to make a bridge for all sorts of elements rearrangement any correct speaking so on that case grammar translation method is compulsory. So to fill up this gap and give a fulfilment of grammar translation method, I will make this research how this could be possible through the combination both together. Though many researches have been done to flourish this conception. Communicative language teaching is the best method of English language learning. It discusses both grammatical and social situation so that students will be able to pick up early this language.
Research Questions:
1. How the commencement will make the bridge to between the two methods to make one unique method
2. Which way students should follow to learn English language by exercising both methods.
3. Why these two methods need to comply in together
4. Why it will be a rapid progress in English language learning.
5. Blending them with together to make an unique syllabus process
6. Making an online platform to get together for GTM and CLT method
7. Choosing best features and styles to make achievable the fluency and accuracy.
