Background information

Major depressive disorder (MDD) is defined by Burton et al. (2022) as a severe form of depression with symptoms including low mood, loss of interest in pleasurable activities, feelings of worthlessness, and disturbances in a number of areas including sleep and appetite. Major depressive disorder can result in a significant impact on an individual’s life. For example, individuals may not be able to go to work or conduct general household chores (Burton et al., 2022).

Several treatment approaches are available for major depressive disorder, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Problem-solving therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, psilocybin, and other therapies. In this essay you must choose three treatment methods to critically evaluate.
