Background

The Commonwealth government’s Job Services Australia program (not to be confused with the JobSeeker Payment) ran from 2009 to 2015 to deliver employment services to unemployed job seekers. Services were delivered by a mix of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations funded by the government through the contracting out of service delivery using competitive tendering.
