Abstract
The African thistle, Berkheya rigida, is a problem in the areas where it grows. It limits pasture productivity and limits grazing areas. A field experiment was conducted to test different herbicide combinations on the different growth stages of the thistle. The thistles of each group were tagged with a different color cable tie. 3 combinations were tested on the plants. Roundup Turbo and 2,4-D Amine was the combined and MCPA and 2,4-D Amine was combined with Lotus separately. Visual observations were made before herbicide application and 3 times after application. It concludes that Roundup Turbo and 2,4-D affected each stage the same while MCPA + Lotus and 2,4-D + Lotus affected the growth stages differently.
