Question (a) In the space below, design a MOD-8 asynchronous ripple counter, implemented using J-K flip flops, to count in the ordered binary sequence 000 . . . 111. Show all connections and combinational logic required, and where the outputs of the flip-flops should be taken to form the counter value. You can assume that all flip flops start with their outputs at 0

(b) Assume that the counter from part (a) is driven by a 100 MHz clock signal, connected to the CLK IN input and that each flip flop now has a propagation delay of tpd = 5ns. Draw the waveforms at the output of each flip flop in the space below for the first 7 negative-edge clock transitions, assuming initially that DCBA = 0000.

Question (c) A syncrhonous counter utilising three J-K flip flops is shown in the diagram below

Assume that the flip flops start with their outputs CBA = 000, and there is no propagation delay through the flip flops or combinational logic. Complete the timing diagram below to indicate the output of the flip-flops, where the signal CLK IN indicates input to the clock input of the flip flop on the right.

What is the counting sequence (in binary) of this counter?
