It has also been stated that the hysteresis in (Id-Vg) Characteristics of gFETs is originated as a result of trapping charges at graphene/SiO2 interfaces.
The density and occupancy properties of these charge generally depend on the composition and fabrication process of the dielectric materials. In fact, PMMA residue is also one of the major issues that effects CVD-graphene surface. This indicates that the density of trapped charges at the graphene/SiO2 interface will be increased, leading to a further increase in the hysteresis in (Id-Vg) characteristics of this kind of device. Hence minimizing the residue PMMA on a graphene surface may reduce the hysteresis in (Id-Vg) curves. Removing the residue of PMMA is a challenge issue to obtain a graphene sheet with its intrinsic electronic properties.
