The tension on the tight side is 960 N and the angle of contact is 185°. The coefficient of friction is 0,4. Determine the power that can be transmitted and the rotational speed of the small pulley. The included v-groove angle is 40°. (9)
1.2 In a belt drive the tension in the tight side of the belt is 500N and in the slack side 180N. The driving pulley, 250mm diameter, is fastened to the armature of an electric motor that develops 6kW at 20 r/s. The diameter of the driven pulley on the countershaft is 800mm;

i) The power transmitted by the belt (4)
ii) The efficiency of the drive (2)
iii) The torque on the countershaft (2)
iv) The speed of the countershaft
