The new Victorian Mental Health Act (The Mental Health and Wellbeing Act 2022) also recognizes the lack of therapeutic benefit of seclusion and restraint and proposes their elimination in mental health care provision. The recovery-orientated model also advocates for patients to set their own care priorities and to live a meaning life of their choice.

2) Explore how the role of vicarious trauma and burnout experienced by mental health nurses can impact care towards consumers.

3) Critically evaluate the correlation between implementation of safewards and reflective practice.

2) Explore how the role of therapeutic use of self and self-awareness can impact recovery-centred care towards consumers.
