You are required to write a word Literature Review on the topic of best practice in traumainformed therapy. Please refer to the Instructions for details on how to complete this task.

Context

A literature review provides an overview of previous research on a topic. It critically evaluates, classifies, and compares publications on a particular topic. It provides the author the opportunity to synthesise research and literature relevant to their identified topic of interest. This assessment is designed to help you to map different approaches to a therapeutic practice, thus providing you with a foundation for practice on a topic of best practice in trauma-informed therapy. Please do not choose a topic that relates to any personal experience of trauma that you may find triggering.

Instructions

1. Explore current research associated with working with clients who have experienced a particular type of trauma.

2. Choose a topic area that is unlikely to be triggering for you.

3. Critically review the literature on yourselected topic area to formulate an informed opinion on best practice in the topic area.

4. By critically analysing the literature you will aim to achieve the following:

• Establish themes in the literature through analysis of a discreet topic: Select appropriate journal articles for inclusion in the project, sort these into the relevant headings and sub-headings, and briefly summarise each piece of research.
• Identify opposing views: The selected referencesshould be critically discussed, compared, and contrasted.
• Demonstrate the depth of your knowledge and understanding within the area of chosen research: Select key ideasto create themesthat help to answer your research question. These key ideas/themes should form the structure of your critical analysis.
• Draw conclusions with regardsto best practice in your chosen topic area.

5. If you find many similarstudies on any aspect ofthe topic, restrict your discussion to the highest-quality studies only. Depending on your topic, the review is expected to contain at least 20 individualreferences. This meansthat you may not be able to cover each article in great depth due to the word limitation.
