Scott Momaday’s The Way to Rainy Mountain, and Toni Morrison’s Jazz all explore the past—be that in the form of personal or family history; of heritage or tradition; of historical cruxes where past and future collide in some way, etc. 

Develop an essay that discusses how and why TWO of the above texts explore the past. What is discovered within the infinitude? What is uncovered in the searching? What shape or form does enlightenment take?
