The assignment consists of four aspects, which should be developed concurrently: 

Implement 

• Implement avionics control functionality that satisfies the requirements stated in Section 3, using MATLAB, Simulink, or a combination of both. 

Test • Plan a test procedure to demonstrate the operation of the system under normal and failure 

scenarios (note that this may require enhancements to the model to allow “error injection” to be implemented) 

• Implement a repeatable procedure to demonstrate your tests. This may be scripted in MATLAB or manually driven (in which case a clear written procedure should be included). 

Manage 

• During the ten-week project, the group must hold 5 group meetings, at approximately 2-week intervals. 

• At each meeting, notes on the progress of the project must be submitted to the module tutor, along with a four-item checklist for each member of the group: 1. Attendance at the meeting 2. Engagement with the meeting 3. Contribution to the project since the last meeting 4. Decisions made 

• The 5 possible checks for meeting attendance/engagement/contribution shall contribute to 15% of the overall mark for that individual 

• The group leader should write a fair and frank assessment of the group progress on attendance, engagement and contribution in an email to the concerned Tutor. This should be done with the consultation of the group members. All group members should be cc’ed in the email. If the group belongs to the tutorial session T1/01 then the Module Leader should also be cc’ed. 

• These reports and attendance/engagement/contribution checks should be included again as an appendix to your report. 

Report 

• Give a demonstration of the model and test procedure in the laboratory 

• There is no specific format for the report, but it should contain at least the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Literature Review, and Conclusions.
