Consider an operation or process with which you are familiar preferably one which is felt to have some issues and could be improved. Carry out an analysis of the process/operation as set out below before outlining a set of recommendations.

1) Outline the operation identifying the strategic performance objectives and the specific operations characteristics (such as inputs and outputs, transformed and transforming resources, the 4V profile). In 4V profile, compare the operations in same market

2) Evaluate an aspect of the design of the operation and its compatibility with the performance objectives. Outline the types of the process/layout, stages of product/service delivery, and use process mapping to illustrate your answers. Such as Types of projects like job shop etc, identify the process and layouts –fixed, functional, cell etc,

3) Evaluate a specific aspect of the operation, which you consider to be important. You may choose from subjects such as inventory management, supply chain management, capacity management, quality management or risk management. Such as Anyone management

4) Considering points 1-3 above describe the issues within the operation and outline some recommendations on how they could be improved. Identifying the management and operation can do some recommendations.

Use real problem not a made up problem.

Analysis can be done using interviews, surveys etc, involve models or framework applications don’t just describe give critical analysis, give key recommendations relating to the key points and maintain proper link between the issue and recommendations. More literature reviews and academic articles, less online or website articles.
