UniLodge requires LBC to design an application for its booking processes so that prospective as well as existing tenants can manage their stay quite efficiently. The app is expected to be able to serve the tenants in searching for accommodation that suits their needs while studying/working at La Trobe. Functionalities required for the app include, to the minimum, browsing functionality for accommodations based on types, size of rooms, the price per week, facilities, and availability. Also, booking management and contract arrangement. Each LBC team must use Marvel in designing the app during Semester 1, 2021.

Problem Statement UniLodge 2021 Project
Jerry is an international student who has enrolled to start his master's program at La Trobe on the 3rd of August. He just received an email with the O-Week activities, and he has to show up for the orientation week on the 27th of July in Bundoora. It’s the first time that Jerry will be far from his country and he is quite worried because he doesn’t know anything about Melbourne either anyone to ask about it.
He looked at some posts on Facebook and gumtree about some room rentals, but he doesn’t know about the suburbs, the utility billing system, public transport, close supermarkets, if it’s better to stay on the campus, or in a homestay, prices, etc. He wants to stay in the CBD but it seems very far from Uni, so he is confused.

Client Requirements:
Design an app using Marvel that would solve Jerry’s pain point.
An Interface for landlords to manage the properties. Keep in mind that La Trobe
accommodation management will also be a landlord of the app which will be offering a
lot of properties. (Consider off campus landlords to allow posting as well)
Track the property and notify the landlord when the contract/rent is due. Before a rent contract finishes, the app must have able to find possible students to take the property and send this information to the landlord.

A dashboard for La Trobe accommodation management to view and analyse the number of students on/off-campus, capacity, profit, which is the most popular suburb
for students, costs, etc. Review current, new and rejected applications for landlords- (find which is the main reason why applications are rejected)

Making payments within the application
Should be real-time so that Jerry can review or book the property before travelling to Melbourne.
Have some mechanism to avoid scams and protect the students.
Jerry should also be able to view the review of, other tenants, inspections of a property etc.,
Help Jerry decide on which property he should take.
Enhancements can be added - please exercise your creativity and proposed enhancements which can potentially improve the sales of the client organization by 20%. Please note that you will need to justify (with data) as to how this suggested improvement will achieve its target. We are expecting that your application must cover all the requirements mentioned above, as well please add more features you think will make or give Jerry a better experience when he uses your application.
