3. Over a period of 12 months, 550 mm of rainfall occurred over a given catchment area equal to 15,000 km2. Stream flow measured over a weir at the outlet of the watershed was 45 m3/sec. Measurements of groundwater indicated that the water table rose 5 cm during the 12 months in mm.

4. An 8000 mi2 watershed received 20 inches of precipitation in a 1-year period. The annual streamflow was recorded as 5000 ft3/sec. Roughly estimate the evapotranspiration in inches. State any assumptions made.
