Assessment Tools should employ an appropriate combination of direct, indirect and supplementary evidence.
All processes must be consistent with the Principles of Assessment; evidence gathered must comply with the Rules of Evidence.
Select less complex Units of Competency or tasks that you are familiar with. Candidates experienced with language, literacy and numeracy experience may wish to consider developing assessments from the Foundation Skills Training Package (FSK).
Version control must be applied consistently and be evident across all assessment tool documentation. Ignore the existing HBA version control information in this document and apply your own version control consistent with your organisational policies and procedures or develop and implement your own system.
Written (or verbal) assessments are ideal methods for capturing evidence of understanding of underpinning knowledge. Observation checklists are ideal to capture the performance / skill component.
