OzCasual Pty Ltd has contracted your Cyber Security firm to secure its new cloud-based server infrastructure, and your team has been tasked with all aspects of the project including planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and release. As part of the project you will create a virtual Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) that can be used by the security staff of OzCasual to defend their network against cyber-attacks. At a minimum, your CSOC will need to include the following features:
•    Configured firewall - 
•    Intrusion detection system 
•    Intrusion Prevention system (IPS)
•    Red team/blue team exercises 

Note: Your Instructor will act as the Project Owner representing OzCasual Pty Ltd in all tasks. You should seek permission of the Project Owner when creating the initial Product Backlog and obtaining formal sign-off of the Project Scope (Appendix 1), Documentation (Appendix 2) and Final Acceptance (Appendix 3).
Background Information
OzCasual Pty Ltd has been running a local webserver to host its e-commerce website and an Active Directory domain controller and file server using Windows Server 2008. As a result of a recent surge in online sales, the company’s on-premises servers can no longer meet the demands of the business and the company has hired a system administrator to move their infrastructure to the cloud. 
The system administrator has recently deployed a Windows server 2019 Active Directory instance, and a Web Server running Amazon Linux 2 for the OzCasual Website. 
 

Task 1.1 – Develop a project plan  - 
A)    Participate in a project planning meeting with your team and the Project Owner. At the meeting, your team should:
1.    Determine the scope and system boundaries of the project
2.    Setup lists on Trello to identify the project backlog “To Do”, work in progress “Doing” and completed tasks “Done”
3.    Determine the questions that need to be considered to meet the project goals
4.    Determine the type of background information that needs to be collected, such as
a.    Analysis of the current infrastructure (linux and windows server)
b.    Analysis of the available options for hardening the cloud infrastructure
c.    Analysis of current approaches to implementing a CSOC
5.    Allocate responsibility to each team member for collecting parts of the background information.

B) During the initial project planning meeting, take your own meeting notes of key discussions and decisions made.

C) Include your meeting notes in your portfolio.

Task 1.2 – Conduct Initial Research 

A) Working individually, collect background information as was agreed during the initial project planning meeting.   Record your findings in a research log. 

B)    Include your research log in your portfolio. 

Task 1.3 – Review Initial Research 

A) Participate in a meeting with your team to:
•    Discuss research findings
•    Develop a list of possible user stories to be included on the product backlog list in Trello.

B)  Include in your submitted portfolio a screenshot of your team’s Trello account showing a list of potential user stories
