Based on the Project Outline Students are to prepare a Project Charter. This may follow either a template used by the student work site or the template used in the course materials. The Charter should include a minimum of:

• Date/Project start and finish
• Purpose Statement
• Scope Description
• Deliverables
• Cost and Schedule
• Goals/Measures of success
• Stakeholders
• Chain of Command/ Project team
• Assumptions

Statement of Work/Work Breakdown

Students will develop a SOW based on the material provided in class. This will include but not be limited to:

• Clear and reasonable breakdown of high level tasks and outcomes
• Identifying team involvement and timelines
• Identifying any inter-relations between tasks
• Identify all resources (materials, equipment, labor)

Gantt Chart/Budget

• Students will prepare a Gantt Chart outlining the SOW. This may be produced using a software package or as simple as an Excel spreadsheet.
• The Gantt Chart should match the SOW for the timeline and indicate the relations between tasks. You may consider including a CPM or PERT to help show the project relations.
• The budget will align with the Gantt Chart and show the cost by task/milestone
• The budget should indicate an understanding of cash flow and procurement timelines
• The budget should indicate a variance mechanism to manage costs and KPI

Communications/Risk Plan – Final Project

Communications Plan

Students will develop a project communications plan as discussed in class. This will include but not be limited to:

• • Stakeholder communication
  • Project meeting plans and roles
  • Client communication plan
  • Documentation identification and management

Risk Plan and Mitigation

• Students will identify risks associated with the project as outlined in the course. Students will produce a document that includes but not limited to:
  • Risks that are controllable and not controllable, but need to be monitored
  • A plan to monitor said risks
  • A planned response to each risk identified.

In Class Participation

• The expectation is students will be engaged with the material and adding insight to help in enhancing the learning of other students. Grades will be based on the student showing up on time for class, level of engagement and quality of inputs.
