Introduction
The introduction to this assignment should include the aim of the assignment and an introduction to the patient case selected for analysis. The patient case selected for the purpose of this assignment should be briefly introduced and the two patient care priority problems/ diagnoses should be highlighted.

Aim

The aim of this assignment is to facilitate the student to integrate up-to-date evidence and research into goal directed nursing practice. The student will reflect on and analyse a case study based on an actual patient they cared for. The purpose of the case study is to distinguish and critically analyse the current evidence-base that supports nursing care of the actual and potential priority problems experienced by the patient case following difficulties in weaning from invasive ventilation. The student is expected to integrate a holistic and multi-disciplinary approach to patient care. The assignment should focus on an identified day in the patient case journey.
