SCENARIO: You work for an organization who employs [YOUR SPECIFIC PROFESSION]. Your organization could be a private practice, a school, a government health district, a non-government organization, or business. In a review of the performance of the organization, ‘communication’ (verbal, non verbal, and written) was identified as an area needing improvement, including communication within teams, communication with clients/patients/students, and communication with the general public. Part One: Written evidence-based brief
Write an evidence-based brief addressing FOUR communication issues listed in the above able. Of the FOUR, you need to select ONE issue within the organization, and THREE issues with patients/clients/students/consumers that use your organization. Your brief for each communication issue needs to address:
(1) Brief statement - What is the problem? (you can refine the problem and make it more specific) (2) What are the main factors likely to underlie the communication issue?
(3) What are the consequences if the communication issue is not addressed?
(4) Proposed solution to address the communication issue
The word limit for Part One is 2000 words, equivalent to approximately 500 words per communication issue. You can include images (e.g., graphs, figures, images) to supplement your response for each issue. As part of your written response, you are expected to consider and refer to evidence-based literature for points #2, #3, and #4. The literature needs to come from books, book chapters, peer reviewed journal articles, and reputable websites for organizations (not generic websites such as Wikipedia).

• Develop a 1-page educational resource relevant to [YOUR SPECIFIC PROFESSION]. The purpose of the resource is to raise the profile of and awareness about your profession in the general community.
• Your resource could be a flyer or infographic about your profession (e.g., what you do, who you work with) OR it could be a checklist, tip sheet or practical ideas for addressing a specific issue. The 1-page document needs to showcase your profession and their expertise.
