Once you have collected and uploaded the document, three things will happen:
Your tutor will review your submission to ensure that all the required memos are present. If there are missing memos or any of your memos lack citation, your submission will be returned to you for revision.
Your tutor will score the memos as well as the memo from Learning Activity 10.6 to grade against each of their marking rubrics. These marked memos will be returned to you.
Once you have received your marked memos back, you will contact your tutor to set up a time for a 20-minute oral quiz. During this oral quiz, your tutor will ask you questions about the three memos that were graded. The questions are similar to the “As you write your memo, consider these questions” and are designed to ensure that you thought critically about the creation of the memos. You may consult the memos and any other notes you have during the quiz.
Submit your completed assignment to [Written Assignment 2 - Submissions] for assessment (submission link will be available upon your course contract start date).

The assessment requires students to prepare a single document that compiles memos from different learning activities. These activities include selecting and organizing a study for context, orientation needs analysis, orientation training and evaluation, pay and wage structures, benefits packages, defining task expectations, behaviorally anchored ratings, analyzing poor performance, disciplining workers, and unionization metrics, effects, and responses. After uploading the document, the submission will be reviewed by the tutor to ensure that all required memos are included with proper citations. Each memo will be graded against marking rubrics. Following this step, students will participate in a twenty-minute oral quiz where they will be asked questions about the memos to evaluate their critical thinking and understanding of the topics.
The academic mentor first explained the scope of the assessment by breaking down the learning activities into smaller sections. Each memo was discussed individually so the student could clearly understand what type of information was required. The mentor highlighted the importance of citations and provided examples of how to structure the content effectively.
The next step was guiding the student through orientation-related memos such as training needs analysis, lesson planning, and evaluation. The mentor ensured the student understood how to connect theory with practical workplace scenarios. For pay structure, wage structure, and benefits package, the mentor encouraged the student to analyze real-world examples and relate them to organizational policies.
When focusing on performance-related memos, the mentor explained the purpose of behaviorally anchored ratings and guided the student to identify key factors while analyzing poor performance. Practical strategies for disciplining workers were also covered in detail to ensure accuracy and professional tone in the memo writing.
For unionization topics, the mentor provided a clear explanation of metrics, possible effects, and organizational responses. Students were encouraged to think critically about both employee and employer perspectives. The mentor simulated sample questions to help the student prepare for the oral quiz and to practice answering confidently while using references from the memos.
By the end of the guidance process, the student was able to prepare a complete set of memos covering all required learning activities. Each section was developed with accurate citations, structured arguments, and practical insights. The outcome reflected the student’s ability to apply academic knowledge in workplace contexts. The oral quiz preparation built confidence and critical thinking skills. The learning objectives achieved through this assessment included effective memo writing, linking theory to practice, understanding organizational processes, handling workplace performance issues, and evaluating unionization impacts.
