Selection of a youth or community problem
Your task prior to session 6 is to search online for examples of a youth or community problem and then locate a number of programs that are already out there that address the problem (learn all about them). In doing so you will be gaining some clear insight as to the direction your program proposal may take and how it is achieved. Programs may be at a community, group or individual level.
Elements of the assessment (Program Proposal)
1. Cover page: Agency name, agency description, agency philosophy and/or mission statement.
2. Program description: A clear purpose & description of the program, what, why, Remember time of day, how long, where (location), partners, outcomes for participants, and mention of theoretical base.
3. Aim, Objectives and strategies: One Aim, 4 to 6 objectives and 4 to 6 strategies for each objective.
4. Target group description: A clear description of the possible service users that the program will cater for (target group description) Remember age, culture, economic status, demographic area, gender (if necessary), academic status (if necessary), Risk factor (status).
5. Theoretical Perspectives: A reflection on the way the program will be delivered in relation to theoretical perspective.
